In week four, you will explore the logic behind designing various vehicle types, including passenger cars, spacecraft, and flying vehicles. Instructor John Frye delves into the historical evolution of vehicle volumes, emphasizing the human aspect in design dimensions. John introduces a design methodology structured around the ‘letter P’ – Person or Passenger, Purpose, Power, and Propulsion, guiding the design based on these elements. The lesson also includes practical exercises in sketching different vehicles, focusing on their essential attributes and design parameters, and enhancing understanding of vehicle silhouettes and shapes. John’s approach combines a historical perspective with practical design elements, allowing you to understand vehicle design logic thoroughly.
