In this lesson, instructor Iliya Mirochnik will teach you how to observe, construct, and render the zigzag fold. You will learn how to draw the fold when it is hung from the point of tension and placed over a cylindrical form, commonly found in pant legs or sweater sleeves.
This lesson belongs to Drapery: The Russian Approach. In this 8-week course, instructor Iliya Mirochnik will introduce you to the Russian Academic method of drawing drapery from observation. You will learn how to render each of the six types of folds. Iliya will teach you how fabric interacts and is affected by gravity. You will discover how designing and incorporating fabric and folds in your work can create movement. Through this course, you will be able to combine everything you have learned into drawing a clothed figure.
