In this lesson, instructor Iliya Mirochnik will demonstrate how to draw and describe the general structure of the pipe fold, which will allow you to reconstruct it from your imagination. You learn how to create a structure for analyzing and drawing drapery. Iliya will expand your ability to describe forms and render delicate transitions.

This lesson belongs to Drapery: The Russian Approach. In this 8-week course, instructor Iliya Mirochnik will introduce you to the Russian Academic method of drawing drapery from observation. You will learn how to render each of the six types of folds. Iliya will teach you how fabric interacts and is affected by gravity. You will discover how designing and incorporating fabric and folds in your work can create movement. Through this course, you will be able to combine everything you have learned into drawing a clothed figure.
