In this lesson, instructor Ben Fenske begins his first session of painting an interior scene. You will learn to develop a well-balanced composition. Ben will teach you how to utilize color and value studies during the beginning stage of developing an interior painting.

This lesson belongs to the course Painting Interiors in Oil. In this 5-week course, you will follow Ben Fenske through his process of painting interiors. He will first introduce you to the key concepts of interior painting. Then, you will watch multiple demonstrations, where he shows you his use of suggestive brushstrokes, delightful colors, and step-by-step approach to painting indoors with natural light. After this course, you will gain a greater understanding of light and color relationships, as well as being able to achieve atmospheric perspective in your paintings.
