In this lesson, instructor Glenn Vilppu will provide you an overview of the main elements in composition and explains the idea of movement and force. You will learn how to arrange the picture frame in a way that moves the viewer’s eye and create a sense of liveliness to your compositions. Glenn also teaches you how to analyze the movement in several masterworks.
This lesson belongs to the course Elements of Traditional Composition. In this 10-week course, master artist Glenn Vilppu will teach you the fundamental elements of composition used in pictorial art. You will study the important aspects of composition like movement, force, opposites, geometry, and many more. Glenn will show you how the Old Masters utilize these compositional concepts in their creations. Afterward, you will watch Glenn’s demonstration on how to apply those elements to your artwork using a traditional step-to-step approach. After completing this course, you will gain a deep understanding of composition and be able to transform your artistic ideas into visually effective outcomes.
