In this lesson, instructor Steve Huston will demonstrate his charcoal and conté drawing technique on a reclining female figure. Steve will take you through each step of his process, starting with a light lay-in using a stump loaded with charcoal powder to the finishing touches.

With a focus on gesture and structure, Steve will guide you through a powerful and direct approach to capture the human form. You will tune in as he demonstrates multiple long poses using charcoal and conté crayons. By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills to make strong artistic statements and confidently visualize figures in three-dimensional space.
