In week two, you will delve into the essential materials for figure drawing, focusing on the use of charcoal and pencils to capture gesture and structure. Patrick teaches you how to warm up with rhythmic exercises, simplifying complex forms with concepts like the “Mr. T” for the torso and “The Bean” to depict movement. He demonstrates techniques to balance gesture and structure, helping you develop fluidity while maintaining anatomical accuracy. By the end of this lesson, you’ll understand how to simplify and refine your drawings using both broad and fine strokes.
