In this lesson, you will learn how to construct the head and torso. Instructor Steve Huston will teach you the different perspectives of the head like leaning and tilting. Then, you will explore how the torso is constructed through simple shapes. Steve will take an in-depth analysis of how the Old Masters drew the head and torso.
This lesson belongs to the course Constructive Figure Drawing I. During this 7-week course, renowned artist Steve Huston will teach you a powerful and direct method to drawing the human figure. Steve will take you through several concepts to help simplify and demystify the construction of the figure. You will develop a strong understanding of body movement and its structure. You will watch Steve analyze drawings from the Old Masters to learn how they constructed the figures using simple forms and shapes. After this course, you will be able to break down any challenging figurative pose and apply the knowledge you gain here to personal artwork.
