In this lesson, you will discover how to capture the hair in a portrait drawing with colored pencils. Instructor Fei Meng will demonstrate her way of building the hair in layers and grouping the values. You will learn the tips and tricks Fei employs to create photorealist lighting effects on the hair.
This lesson belongs to the course Colored Pencil Portraiture. In this 10-week course, Fei Meng will walk you through the fundamentals needed to make captivating portrait drawings with colored pencils. You will learn how to create color palettes, execute delicate blending techniques, and develop a fully realized portrait from start to finish. Fei will demonstrate how to construct individual features of the face, like the eye, nose, mouth, and ear. After this course, you will have a concrete understanding of how to render with colored pencils to create your very own portrait drawings.
