Matt Lewis earned his BA in sequential art and illustration at The Savannah College of Art and Design in 1998. In 2000, he worked at the Ward Sculptural Arts Foundry in Canton, Georgia. Lewis has befriended some of the most prominent sculptors from the South throughout his career, including Don Haugen, John Ward, John Michel, James Spratt, and Teena Stern. In 2006, he created eight life-size sculptures that represented the rescuing of dolphins after Hurricane Katrina. Besides working on personal sculptures and paintings, Matt helps maintain and repair the existing bronze sculptures at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island, Nassau.
