100 Day of Ink

Now finishing with Inktober, I’ve decided to make a 100 day ink sketch challenge. This will involve sketching from life, reference, imagination, and so on. I will show my work when I get a chance. I will also going through the courses on the site, but with only ink. I hope this will help me develop and economy a strokes and a better understanding of the medium.

Day 11. I noticed that the clothed figure course is up. I now know what the majority of these daily sketches will be from. I have been inspired so much from the instructors of NMA and Art Mentors over the past couple of years. I love that NMA has such a quality fountain of knowledge to learn from, especially instructors such as Glen Vilppu, Bill Perkins, and Steve Huston. I also like the challenges to help hold ourselves accountable and to create a daily habit.

Day 10. Just a quick sketch master study of Arial from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. I am going to try to a lot more master studies of Disney animators to see if I can make a connection between them and the material taught in NMA.
