My last page to show of my recent leg/feet study after Huston’s book. TONS learned! These include studies off Prudhon, Rubens, Michelangelo, Raphael and Da Vinci. Lots of structure and gesture, some ‘eff ups too. Currently on the last chapter of the book!
A sheet of Guido Reni and Giulio Romano. I’m quite of the lower-left leg of Romano: gesture, balance, movement. A good drawing from him I want to further study. It was in Hale’s book.
Some of the few feet studies I did. These are from a personal fave: Andrea Del Sarto. The other legs are from Signorelli, Michelangelo and Jacques Callot.
Work page from late 17th c. Italian artist Giovanni Maria Ciocchi. This was about halfway through my sketchbook. It was around this point that I started slowing down a bit. I was encountering more refined/larger drawings from the Old Masters so it allowed me to focus more on the construction/other elements.
Gonna be showing my leg/foot practice based of the Old Masters, applying what I learned from Huston’s book.
