Hello NMA! Feliz Ano Nuevo! Last month I completed my self-study of Steve Huston’s figure drawing book. Highly recommended! For the next few days I’ll be sharing my efforts of his last chapter on Light and Shadow. The exercises has you focusing on constructing simple forms, mapping a shadow edge, and giving it a value. Along with secondary forms and highlights. A challenging one since Rendering is a weak point for me. All are done in charcoal…a medium I DON’T like much. Nonetheless, I gotta explore. Enjoy my study of Old Masters!
