I guess all practice is good practice, even if it doesn’t feel quite right at the time. The number of drawings I’ve done that I hate when I do them, but I look again later and I can’t understand what it was I didn’t like about them. I like the way you’ve done the mouths with an additional guideline that’s more curved than the eyeline. Looks like it really helps to capture the “barrel”…. might have to steal that.
Hey – I like the drama of the earlier stuff – the one with the kid carrying his shoes especially. It also looks to me like the studying is paying off towards the later ones, the studies look much more structural and convincing.
Look forward to seeing what’s to come.
Nice stuff! I particularly like that simple drawing of the shocked cat. Do you do illustrations? I can just imagine these in a children’s book.
Also, you seem to have an impressive number of pencils on the go at any one time. Are you using one hard, one soft and a mechanical pencil?
Thanks for sorting the upload out and Savina, I hope that I’m not going to disappoint. I was going to upload this yesterday, but had a bit of a day of it as I spilt a pint of water over my laptop, which died with a sickening popping sound.
Ok – Here we go. I’ve been drawing on and off since a kid, but it’s only since September 2017 that I’ve really started trying to improve.
For myself, I think that my figure drawing is considerably better than the portrait stuff, but I’m now starting to work on that. I found Glenn Vilppu’s figure drawing to be a really inspiring course and then ran through Karl Gnass’ course.
Seems to be something funny with the video order here. The Overview video is actually the 1st lesson and then, the 1st lesson is actually the second etc.
This lesson also seems to be missing references, though I’m sure I can find them in the images section.
Great class though.
Hmmm… not sure if the posting is working yet. Anything I try says it’s not a valid format or is too big. File size if 55 KB. Will try again later.
