I wish these forums were more active, but I would say try with just black/white/gray tones for the beginners before jumping into color. For beginners, don’t go too deep into details otherwise you’ll be stuck doing homework forever. Just block out the value groups for each square. That way you won’t build a bad habit of painting an image in black and white before tacking on color
