Hi Francisco, I think you are having a great start here. My only question to you – is this painting about window ? Let me explain why I am asking – due to high contrast of the window grid it takes all attention from what happens on the table and a story about habitant of the room gets lost. Do you think it is possible to open that window and let that artistic spirit to flow in the world outside with the music?
I love the mood here! He is lonely sunflower but keeps his petals up to show how he is brave and shining even he is just alone. He is a fighter.

Figures look very modern style with abstract notes in them. The theme of guilt is shown well, but also somehow looks like there is some shame intermixed with it. They are powerful drawings!
Hi Jana, you have a great start there. Acrylics I think make painting process more difficult, but this is to say everyone likes different things. I hope you progressed on your class here and can look back a bit yourself. I would say the level of details in background is excessive and it makes entire painting shimmer and eye does not know where to stop. I am sure you will be covering the level of details and aerial perspective in your classes to get that theoretical knowledge needed.
Would it be possible to reference the name of the original please?
February 17, 2021 at 12:25 am in reply to: I’m open to critiques on my Composition Matrix-Mood Exercises #1200132Hi Carlos, I plan to take composition class next as refresher of my other learning class. I cannot judge how the mood changes, but what I see it is a great exercise to train the values in different conditions. I can say that in the jug exercise the most successful to my eye is high contrast and picture #1. Out of the ones with the vase the one is in the very middle is most attractive. Sorry that I cannot describe the mood.
Thank you Antti! I was playing with everything but smoke. 🙂 did not occur to me it could be added as this little building gets warm only once a week.
Francis, thank you very much!
