Thanks! I was doing the stages like the lessons and tried to emphasize the ones I was focusing on (box, cylindrical forms, etc). But I think doing some studies side by side as you said could be a nice approach as well.

Reading your post from day 16, I could identify myself with the same issues you described regarding drawing from volumes.
I’m also used to drawing from contour and measuring, and now I’m trying to switch to drawing from volumes to be freer from only copying and be able to create things from imagination more easily.I know it’s a real challenge, but I’m sure you can do it! You work so far is great, and I like the way you render form trough tone, keep it up!

It was a sketch for my first portrait in oils, and I was very pleased with the result – especially considering that I’m not used to drawing with charcoal. But the actual painting stage is waaay more challenging, so it will probably take a while. 😅 -
