Thank you Jan! I like to work quickly. For a portrait, I think that the eyes ( The brain) of the watcher can reconstruct the missing details, just like you recognize someone in the dark. The more the watcher is active, the more he gets in your story!

I admire your patience and your search for details! I am a drawer too and I can’t spend so much time on a piece. For me, you could try to make your shadow darker (using a softer graphite pencil may be) and increase your speed to go to the essentials… But it is Just the way I work ( you can check my style on Instagram at @eventuraportrait). Nice! For me, it could be better if you draw faster. I mean in my work with charcoal I try to avoid hesitation (you can go on my space) and keep construction and movement lines visible. I think it gives you more strength.
