Yoni Four-Hour Oil Portrait

In this final session, you will do a painting with our model Yoni. For the last nine poses you have limited yourself to only two hours for each portrait. This time set your timer to a full four hours and see how far you can develop your painting. Again, you have the choice to follow along with Joseph stroke for stroke or to choose a different pose. Remember to bring your resolve/rendering up in one major area at a time and try to mentally plan your strategy before beginning!

What did you wash the canvas with in the beginning?   A thinner? – NVM you said mineral spirits 🙂

Chapter 9 “Developing a focal point” does not seem to follow from Chapter 8 “Resolving”.  This is because Joseph had already put a lot of details in the eye on the left hand side and also planted in the highlight in that eye by the end of Chapter 8.  However, Chapter 9 starts with  no highlight in that eye, as well as a lack of the refinements made to that eye, all of which were shown in Chapter 8.  Should the materials in Chapter 9 appear somewhere before Chapter 8?
