HI Jeanette, how usually big are these studies? more than 9×12 inches perhaps? (just thinking that the smaller the study gets the harder it is to actually do a study (well for my case.. lol)
Day 52: conte a paris on grained paper. Back to conte again. I finally get the drift with conte. It is all about applying softly to keep the darks light…..so to say…..Still it is more of a drawing tool then massing in tool.
Day 55: charcoal on grained paper. 2 posts today as I have been offline for the weekend, not able to upload anything to this challenge. But I did make the daily drawing anyway. Here it is.
Day 57: charcoal on grained paper. New experiment. Started with gestural drawing but very lightly and only made committed marks. Futhermore tried to apply darker shadow shapes and look for composition. Still struggling with the latter.
Day 58: conte a paris on newspaper. So every day I start with an half hour short poses exercise in the Daily Life Drawing series of NMA and it is getting easier and easier to draw committed lines at the start. So I decided to see what this progress in skill would look like if I used conte a paris on newspaper. Not too unhappy. I think I will give this more tries in the future posts. Undecisive me.
