For Day 82, right-most sketch, I like how you have the spine/centerline, but that wrinkle to the left cuts way too long. I know there’s compression, but a nice short indication could help. Also, see it as a gestural/action mark that flows over the mass of the ribcage/scapula.

Thanks, I’ll go find that reference and reflect on that!

    Day 85

Couple more copies from the Hampton book. I like how he emphasizes some angles and overlaps, especially the knuckles on the left drawing.

Just figure practice today, studied the arm

    Day 87

A couple more studies from this page from the Hampton book. These aren’t as careful as they could be, but it’s useful to look at his construction lines and line choices to reinforce (or challenge) what I’ve learned so far.

    Day 88

Struggled with the hand perspective, so tried that again.

    Day 90

20 and 10 minutes. Practicing recognizing landmarks and the angles between them

    Day 91

Another copy from the Hampton book. Trying to think about how these were constructed and how/why forms are simplified the way they are

For this one I had trouble w/ the width of the fingers

    Day 92

Ran out of space! Didn’t plan the placement of the pose well ahead of time so the legs and the upper arm ended up short. Used the 10 minutes to try that arm with more space. I had trouble seeing which finger was which, so I edited the hand a bit. I think for the fingers it would’ve been better not to try to copy the finger tips as much, but think about how the fingers connect and tweak the placement / length so it’s clearer

    Just another copy today

    Day 94

Tried this one twice, the first time I couldn’t get a good sense of the gesture and proportions so I started over.

    Day 95

Copies from Hampton – blocky simplification of the wrist / palm / thumb

    Day 96

Tried to better understand her abdomen – looks like I shortened her torso in the longer drawing, a little bit. Using the navel as a landmark and head as a simple measurement will help next time

    Day 97

Last copy from this page. This one was helpful to think about how the fingers connect into the palm, and how each phalanx connects to the next

    Day 98

Wanted to better understand the overlaps on the pinched left side

    Day 99

The last day for hands for this challenge! Today I just did one minute hand gestures and chose one to draw from observation. Tried to find the same boxy hand form from the Hampton drawings, but didn’t capture it very well. Next time I’ll try to find just the box of the palm before adding the thumb etc
