Feedback on Drawing Plaster Cast

Hi all,

 

Hoping you could give me some feedback on my drawing on the left, this practice is from the lesson (Drawing Plaster Casts WithMark Westermoe) foundation course.

Still very new to traditional drawing but taking each lesson as I go.

I personally noticed that my character looks more feminine and younger while the tutors work has a better representation of the masculine roughness and age you can find back in the cast of Brutus,

All feedback is welcome I just want to improve.

Hey Anthony! I think this looks great! I think in order to get that ‘masculine roughness’, the individual form and plane changes need to be defined more.

Darkening those midtones and slightly lightening the shadows should fix that. Notice how the planes on the tutor’s drawing are more defined.
