In this lesson, NMA instructor Iliya Mirochnik teaches you how to approach the figure digitally. Each session Iliya will set up new challenges and techniques for you to tackle. You will learn different approaches to figure painting while mixing traditional and digital concepts together in your paintings. Iliya will assign varying assignments for you to tackle, then give feedback on them in forthcoming sessions.
Join NMA instructor Iliya Mirochnik for an 8-week interactive Live Class, where you will explore the nude and clothed figure through the medium of digital painting. Students will also be working with textured brushes in Photoshop to develop paintings with exciting surfaces. Students will work on four, two-week assignments in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Rebelle, focusing on color, composition, anatomy, and the integration of the figure with the environment. During the class, Iliya will go through students’ submitted assignments to give critiques and advice.
Earn a digital Certificate of Completion when you complete this Live Class and submit all assignments for review before the end of term. Certificate details will be announced mid-way through the term. Additionally, students who fulfill the certificate requirements will receive a special badge for display in the NMA community forums and Discord server.

August 15, 2021 at 7:26 am #1676528My assignment didn’t end up in the critique. Not sure what I did wrong with submitting it, I thought I followed the naming instructions correctly and got it in by the deadline (I was in different time zone than normal – but thought it was early)
I will try applying the feedback for the others to my work, and hopefully I can get it right for next week

I didn’t select the images but I do know there is often a large amount of submissions. When this happens we try to rotate students each week and select the most useful pieces to critique. With that said, the critiques often apply to most students. For example, If you watch Glenn Vilppu’s stream he repeats the same set of critiques quite frequently because most students have the same struggles. So I think you have the right mindset 🙂
you can also post this on a critique channel here in the forums, or on our discord which is very active
https://discord.gg/fW9KQcnWrCbtw I really like how you used the shape of the mouth to describe the form of the muzzle. It really makes it look 3D

I can’t believe I missed him saying that he wasn’t going to get everyone, sorry about that. I heard it on my 3rd playback of the lesson. -
