    Hola Andres,

Awesome job throughout! This will pay dividends in the future. About those value studies/thumbnails, did you start with them at the beginning of the challenge or is it something you just recently started doing?

How are they helping you? Are you noticing a difference once you get to the larger piece?

😂 I started these thumbnails very late in the challenge and wished I did them for every Bargue plate.

This helps me see the values in a more simpler sense, a two or three value system, so that when the drawing is finished and I squint my eye,  I want to be able to see those big value relationships clearly.

Bill Perkins is an excellent teacher when it come to composing your values and making thumbnails.

NOIIICCEE, notice how the shadow under the cheek controls the effect of the smile. looks like you pushed it a little, makes her feel more alive

Bro it’s soo subtle.  Just the slightest change conveys many different emotions.  I try not to over do it lol Thank you for indicating that, very important. 🙏🙏🙏

Man, darkening those values always just makes it pop and brings it together.

Question, your light is coming from above-right, and the shadow is casting down to the left, but curious to know why is there a dark value coming off the right side?

    Awesome nonetheless. Keep it up!

That’s a really great question Mark.

You know I’m not exactly sure 😂🙃. I just love the contrasting effect it has on the cast. It definitely dose not have nothing to do with the “laws of light” But emphasizing that tone there makes the light values around that area brighter.
