    Hi Alieke,

    I’m really liking that you’re approaching this portrait with an emphasis on character and composition. I’m including a draw-over where I have your original on the left (marked up) and then a corrected version on the right. I think that some of the things I’m doing here would really work to further bring out the great qualities that this portrait already possesses.

    Hi Illiya!

    Thank you for the red lines! I probably should have mentioned that it’s still work in progress. Where the beard is still the underpainting and the face and the hat have the first colour layers. After this shadows will be added :).
    I’ll keep your feedback in mind, I do agree that certain areas can use more shadows to create more contrast and light effect on the face.

    Day 27

    Finished my watercolour painting. Which means now time for drawing again 🙂
