    Let’s build up great fundamentals with a deep practice of shapes, cross contours, waves, rhythm, light and shadow. All instructors highlight how important this base is, so let’s practice it 🙂 and hope to get some reviews and hints how to improve.

    I will focus on the fundamentals of simple objects like the pear in Fundamentals from Sheldon: https://www.nma.art/videolessons/drawing-fundamentals-part-1-a-beginners-guide/?course=612457

    Wow! These pears are fantastic! The shapes, forms, and hatching are almost mesmerizing! I can feel the rhythm! Very cool.

    I find it difficult to predict the negative shape when following a rythem. They end up as peaks/elevations of the form that tend to have reflected light on them. There for they are an important piece that is I have less control over. It appears to me as a result of the positive shapes that I actually can control.

    Any tips or hints how to approach the negative shapes ?

    @mattias thanks 🙂

    No 20 –  grape on it’s branch.

    Focused was on: a) the waves for the total composition,  b) the turn of the branch creating cast shadows and light, c) the contract and non-contract areas guiding the eye.
