In week three, Ron Husband will demonstrate the role of storytelling in Quick Sketching by focusing on conveying narratives through figure poses. You will learn techniques for creating depth and foreshortening using overlapping lines.
In week four, Ron will guide you through analyzing the comparative anatomy of humans and animals.
In week five, you’ll focus on sketching figures in action, including multi-figure poses in wrestling and fast-paced sports.
In week six, Ron Husband will dive deep into sketching animals by analyzing their underlying anatomy and using basic shapes to build more complex forms. You will learn to sketch animals like big cats, dogs, and elephants.
In week seven, Ron Husband will introduce the topic of illustration and its connection to quick sketching principles. You’ll learn to draw hands, feet, eyes, and ears by breaking them into basic shapes and forms.
In week eight, you will continue learning to illustrate facial features by breaking down the nose and lips into basic shapes and forms and rendering using light and shadow. Ron Husband will then teach you to turn a figure sketch into an illustration.
In week nine, Ron Husband will delve into animal character design for illustration. You will learn how to create engaging and believable characters by designing stylized cougar and elephant characters.
In week ten, you will explore the fundamentals of animating figures with walk and movement cycles.
In week eleven, you will focus on animating animals. Ron Husband will demonstrate how to animate complex poses in big cats and horses, using a 3D reference box to visualize complex poses in perspective.
