In week one, Charles will teach you how to paint a figure with an extended palette. You will discover how to utilize colors in your artwork that improves the dynamic range beyond the Zorn palette.
In week two, you will continue to explore the extended palette in figure painting. Charles will focus on illuminating the figure and fine-tuning the development of the objects in the composition.
In week three, Charles will tackle a costumed figure painting with an extended palette. You will discover how to simplify the fabric and add details to capture the overall feeling of the pose.
In week four, you will practice using an extended palette to bring the costumed figure painting to completion. Charles will show you how to switch between working from life and photo. You will learn to add the final touches to the pose and refine the face of the model.
In week five, Charles introduces you to painting a muti-figure composition utilizing an extended palette. Charles will demonstrate how to block in a painting of two figures. You will learn how to establish the shadow shapes and the forms of the figures.
In week six, you will continue working on the multi-figure painting. Charles will demonstrate how to refine both figures in the composition. You will learn how to capture the characteristics of each model.
In week seven, Charles will demonstrate how to bring the multi-figure painting to completion. You will watch as Charles adjusts areas in the composition and adds in the final details.
