In this lesson, you will practice using an extended palette to bring a costumed figure painting to completion. Instructor Charles Hu will show you how to switch between working from life and photo. You will learn to add the final touches to the pose and refine the face of the model.
This lesson belongs to the course Oil Painting for Beginners II. In this 7-week course, Charles Hu will further your knowledge of oil painting. He will walk you through different figure painting scenarios. You will learn how to develop paintings through multiple sessions, expand your palette, and create multi-figure compositions. With each assignment, you will develop the knowledge that will improve your figure painting toolbox.
Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
You do not need to purchase specific materials to take this course.
