In this lesson, you will learn to design various versions of your characters. Instructor Larissa Brown will demonstrate making model lineups and utilizing different shapes to develop your character and design clothing. She will teach you how to use references to inspire the look of your character. Then, you will do a turnaround sketch to explore your character from all angles.
This lesson belongs to the course Picture Book Illustration. In this 12-week course, instructor Larissa Brown will introduce you to the world of picture books. You will learn how to create stories through drawing and writing. Larissa will walk you through every aspect of picture books, including character development, choosing stories, formatting a book, and finalizing full illustrations. She will also lecture on how to get your book professionally published. After this course, you will gain the skills to bring your imagination to life through picture book making.
Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
