In this lesson, you will learn different rendering strategies in figure drawing. Instructor Steve Huston will teach you his approach to rendering the figure. You will learn how to find areas of closure within your drawing. You will also study the Old Masters’ strategies for drawing the figure. Then, Steve will illustrate a long pose where he will take a drawing from start to finish.
This lesson belongs to the course Constructive Figure Drawing I. During this 7-week course, renowned artist Steve Huston will teach you a powerful and direct method to drawing the human figure. Steve will take you through several concepts to help simplify and demystify the construction of the figure. You will develop a strong understanding of body movement and its structure. You will watch Steve analyze drawings from the Old Masters to learn how they constructed the figures using simple forms and shapes. After this course, you will be able to break down any challenging figurative pose and apply the knowledge you gain here to personal artwork.
